It is part of a fantastic wrought iron gate. One of our ex-board members donated the gate when her father passed away. Unfortunately you don't get to see the entire gate. It is hand pounded wrought iron done by a local man who is an old time blacksmith. He made vines, snails and leaves by hand. He is a true artist. The saying comes from the father. He would look outside every morning and say "it's another beautiful day, oh my!" Of course we love the gate because it is a true work of art and a memorial to a man who must have been very wonderful. If anyone reading this is in Kansas City, feel free to stop by and see the gate and our garden. It is, of course, more beautiful in the summer with vines growing on it.

Jewel asked me to post the story of the sign. Really great shots, I like his style, the people, the black and white and especially one with the cat's paw and some decorative wrought iron. I went to some galleries in NYC and there were so many photos and pieces of art that made no sense to me whatever. I guess all of us have our heads in different places. You two likely compliment each other in photographic contrasts as well as friendship.

Great story and I looked at your friend's site. However it's apparently on the list of Things To Do In Maine along with eat moose and visit the giant fibreglass Paul Bunyan, so take pictures I did. The house is appropriately creepy-looking (though on a very ordinary inner-suburban street) with wrought-iron bats on the railings.

I'm not actually a huge Stephen King fan, so I felt like a bit of a fraud taking pictures of his house. I have this wrought iron candle wall thing that the previous owners left. When I have to remember to mail something, I stick it on there between the votive holder and the wrought iron design.

That’s funny—pretty similar to what I do. Metal expands and contracts 2. The metal remains very hot and very cold long after the apmospheric temperature changes, stressing the paint. One of the easiest ways to add colour if you are making this art yourself is by encorperating things such as mosaic tiles, and large ceramic beads.Remember to be creative- and never dismiss an idea untill you see it properly.... No artist is happy with thier work in progress!

pretty much every paint will come off eventually, mainlybecause:
1.
