Idea for the conservation of Time, Space, and Water. Long ago when one lived in a trailer beside Lake Maracaibo in Western Venezuela, the home, because of its limited space, had an ingenious design concerning the bathroom. The toilet was in the middle of the small shower stall. You looked across from the toilet seat, to a big wall mirror above the vanity shelf where you kept your soap, shaving equipment, toothbrush and paste and any after- wild- night revival pills you needed, bandages, iodine, etc. All this was just within reach, if you stretched across from the toilet seat. The position of the mirror, lightly tilted down, un-succulently though splendidly portrayed the results of your night of sin, love bites, scratches, sore this and that. Of course, the shower head was two feet above your head as you sat, and the valves for hot and cold water, were just below the toilet paper roll within reach of your right hand. The toilet paper roll had a flappable hood over it, to prevent shower splash off your body. Now you do appreciate just why this design was so conservative of space, time, and of water, don’t you? Don’t you? You don’t? Well, its very early, and you’re attempting to get rid of late night drinking cobwebs bestowed upon you from what was delicately called ‘The Bar’ across the caraterra (highway) from the oil camp where, in the trailer bathroom you’re sitting, and time pressed, you have the daily, early 4.30 a.m. launch to catch for Lake Maracaibo. If your head is quite clear enough, and you are sitting on the toilet seat (there is no space to sit elsewhere) as you should be at that time of early morn, you can accomplish the feat of shitting, showering, and shaving, all at the same time. We have never seen a bathroom quite so useful, or quite so conservative, anywhere else in the world; and it obviously was not designed by a University- spat engineer. Only a very practical down- to- earth man, or woman, could have dreamed up an idea like that.
I just asked a question similar to this and everyone pretty mush said the same thing. There is no way in HELL that Justin is the "next" king of Pop. There is no suck thing! The title can not be given away and even if it could, Justin wouldn't get it! King? A little 12 year old? I think not! He can't dance. His vocals are weak. Weak! His songs are about loving girls and that's why they are "in love" with him. Why are people comparing this chump to my MJ? Why? Justin Bieber is a mediocre, two stepper. Michael Jackson revolutionized music and dance! Justin Bieber is what's current. I don't hear much about him outside of Y!As. Nothing is special or original about that kid! I don't get it.

Dan ~ I, too, was the victim of a perm that I didn't like, and the outcome of extremely similar to yours so I can definitely relate..
As the perm was a fashionable thing to have done back then, I tried it. When the stylist unrolled the rollers, my hair came out with very tight curls…the thing I didn't want…to look like I had a poodle on my head.. I had asked for waves not curls . When I asked what happened, the stylist said she didn't realize that the perm would take to my hair so strongly because of the thickness of each strand. So, she “reversed” the process. It was better but still too curly. She could do nothing else for me but to advise me to wash it a lot and perhaps some of the curliness would subside.
Instead, the next day, I went to a barber shop that I had never been to before and asked the barber to cut off all of the curls thinking it would remedy the problem.
I was seated with the large wall mirror to my back so I couldn't see how things were progressing. When he was done, he swirled the chair around so I could get my first look at the new “do”.
I was shocked beyond belief! He had massacred me but I said nothing but “thanks” of all things to say.
This was during the Christmas break when I was in college. The haircut was so bad that I strongly considered not going back to school. But, time arrived and I just had to return to college.
Friends were astonished at my very bad haircut. One asked me if I had signed up for ROTC! When my college advisor was calling roll for one of her classes and my name was called, I said, “Here.” She said, “Where?” I held up my hand and sheepishly waved, “Right here.” She replied something to the effect of, “What happened to your hair? I didn't even recognize you.” I told her it was a long story and that I would tell her about it later.
It made for a very long 6 weeks or so until the hair started looking somewhat presentable again…LOL. I wasn't laughing at the time, however.
And to think, it was all self-inflicted. No one had talked me into trying a perm. And, if I could have changed things, I would have left the perm the way it was…with all the curls. And to think, had I been 7-10 later, his bad haircut would have been the rave as hairstyles had changed to the way my hair was cut…like the barber used a bowl on my head and snipped it all very short..
So, like you, Dan, I've been there and done that and never hope to return again; nonetheless, fate struck again years later when I told the barber to leave my hair about an inch over my ears. He thought I meant to cut it about an inch above my ears. I meant for him to left my hair hanging OVER my ears by an inch. It was another miserable outcome.
Dear R, I knew about the mirrors & exact situation you in. Contact me if you have problems & I will give you my E-mail address or go to IM. There are home remedies for your large project and it doesn't sound like you will need joint compound tape for this.
Your biggest problem will be matching paint. May have to repaint wall or room. Since you do not plan on a big project or going professional, let's work with simple 'tools' for a one time patch job.
* If these wall spots are small, you may need the joint compound in container shorter but fatter than a soup can. * Plastic bucket (clean margarine bowl or something similar. * Free 1 or 2 paint stir sticks at hardware store. * Cheap 2' pancake turner or similar (short handle=better) and withOUT holes in spatula part. * Sanding foam block with medium side & fine side of sand.
* Scrape/sand or perhaps peel off glue. Wipe off dust. * Put some joint compound in bowl mixed with little water until you can EASILY make shapes with it. * Apply spreadable joint compound to damaged spots and leveling with wall using your spatula (scraper). Do not apply thickly. Dry. If not smooth, OK yet. Put lids on mixed & unmixed joint compound. * Sand down large ridges with coarse sander & if smooth with wall use the fine sander. * Repeat another layer of compound to areas not smooth/ level yet. Dry. Sand. Repeat until all smooth from the fine sander. Wipe sanding dust off with damp towel on all areas you need to prepare to paint. * Paint.
