Can gold mix with the color scheme of a mission style decor?
I'm currently decorating my living room with a mission style look. I've done some research on this style through different sites, and I learned that dark colors like deep reds and yellows, burnt oranges, browns, blues and greens are the best choices. I've already incorporated some of these colors into my decor. However, I havent seen/read anything regarding the use of gold in the mission style at all. I dont wanna decorate using only dark colors, because I'm afraid that the room will look very dull. I feel that adding touches of gold can help make the room overall, warm and classy. My wood furniture is already oak, I have a taupe colored sectional sofa with a set of 3 pillows that have red, cream, brown, and taupe stripes. And another set of 3 solid gold chenile pillows. I'd also like to get a round wall mirror with a gold frame for the entryway. Am I doing the right thing, or should I necessarily go by the book. Any tips at all would help.
Goodness no! Don't go by the book, whatever you do. Of course it's good to have the general feel of the style you want, but nothing should stop you from adding what pleases you. Adding a metallic is definitely a good thing. Not only are metallics in fashion, but they also reflect light and make the room and space appear much brighter and lighter. Metallics are neutrals so they match anything. However, from what I've read and studied about the mission style decor, they often used wrought iron, bronze and brass. Opt more for brass and bronze metals instead of gold so as not to detract from your mission style decor.
Aw that was a great idea to take him outside. I know how he feels. I need some dental work too(not straight teeth, some are longer than other, overbite, etc.) Would have needed a retainer growing up, never got it.. I’m happy with my teeth though and don’t intend to change them. I just recall staring at my face on LSD for 10+ minutes at a time whenever I went to the bathroom(our bathroom has wall-to-wall mirrors on 3 walls.) Definitely an interesting experience.
I love this classic early 70's picture! I had those glue on the wall mirrors! What was I thinking???? I still like yellow for some reason but in little amounts! I hope I finally have my browser working, it's been really been slowing me down!
you cna remove the whole fourth fifth and sixth stanza and make the one stanza that should do it the poem still reads well and makes its point without them
Yeah, stop trying to pull the mirrors off the wall, you have obviously weakened the mount causing it to fall. No wonder the landlord is worried that his house is okay.
I’d recommend silicone, the kind that comes in a tube to fit in a caulk gun. That’s what they use to attach countertops and wall mirrors. Then, to add a little gravitational stability, maybe you could add some sort of corner piece on each edge, like photos in a scrapbook. Maybe some rustic looking hardware. The silicone adhesive will keep it attached to the wood, while the brackets will keep it in place and add a little design oomph.

it's amazing how much nicer a room can look when you have walls painted different colors than the norm.
Full wall mirrors are bad…no one wants to spend time looking at themselves…it is creepy.
