   I have worked intensively in Australian technical theatre for 18 years now, and quite literally consider being on set as being in my office… so this list is right up my alley. I would like to add some comments:

   you could try doing either white or pink walls with big polka dots of the other colors. they have stencils that you can buy at home depot, lowes, etc. good luck!

   Yes/No

   There are some people like your family that like that false sense
   of "space". But the majority of people want to know what they are paying for. IMHO remove the mirrors and do a good paint job. You would have a easier time selling your house.

    Wow…I have to fall in agreement with Meghan on this one. I don't like the spookiness and bloodiness of the holiday. Who would? But who says you have to dress up all ugly? Gymnasts, football players, cowboys and princesses are what my kids have always loved dressing up as. Wait…princesses. Disney. Bibbidy-bobbidy-boo. Mirror mirror on the wall. Genie in a bottle. Magic all around those mouse ears. So…your nonbelieving, probably hurting through life neighbors are OPENING their door to you and your kiddos, giving a sweet treat, exchanging some kind words…and this is a bad thing? Not to mention YOU opening your door to them. Wow. In the world but not of the world.

    I walked into a clothing store mirror wall one day thinking it was another room, even tried to dodge my “identical twin” who was coming right at me. Mirrors…how the hell do they work ?

    Keep writing. Finger paint. FINGER PAINT OUTSIDE. Do the good old sponge in red and orange and yellow tempera to make fall trees, then get some ink, drop a little bit on the painting, and blow it around through a straw and to branches.Your therapist is good. You’re smart. The hardest thing to do is work out your own denial. All of us remember only as much as we can handle. I have layers of memories that are the same… but they were broken apart (by me), and did not come together all at once. You may only be able to remember this, particular element of a bigger story, right now, but be open to where it takes you.tai, you were very courageous in working out how to talk to your therapist. This is the most important element of your healing–communication, and trusting yourself… and your therapist.It doesn’t come all at once. If it did, your head would explode. Trust me on that one. I don’t know what happened because I wasn’t there. But if you go to therapy with an open mind about what your parts have to say, you’ll be able to make your way through the dark passages.The best thing my therapist ever said to me was, “All right. I will consider that this is all a lie… but it had to come from somewhere. So let’s suspend belief about every last word’s absolute truth for now… and we’ll work through what it all means together, as we go.”The thing is, tai, we have to deny our abuse because we’ve carried so much shame and horror with it for so long that both things also become part of the memory. Maybe you have parts that are very strong and have rescued you from emotional harm, so you don’t question them. Well, maybe you need to question them. My parts were very good at creating a mirror wall so that I only saw the safe, immediate world around me. But deep down… I always knew it had been very, very bad.Be patient with yourself. This is hard stuff to deal with. It’s not going to away… so take your time. Love the parts of you that keep showing up for therapy. Love yourself for being open to (constructive) confrontation. You’re doing an awesome job, woman. Try to chill a little. It’s a long ride.My heartfelt best to you,~meredith~

    AngloNoel put a horrid image into my head — a male version of the series starring George, the hirsute Tango Man, and certain other would-be Lotharios of the Left, the thought of which makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

    BTW, I hear that sex standing up is a fine thing except that when the Left threatens to “have you up against a wall,” they don't mean “knee-trembler”. And shooting off at the mouth means something entirely different to what they actually do. But I've discussed this at length long enuff, already, and I don't want to come across as a prude.
