The girl who is doing my flowers and centerpieces for my wedding is also a friend of mine and she really wants
to use mirrors under our table centerpieces....I feel mirrors are very outdated, and 80s-ish. What do you think?
i do plan on seeing how it looks first....it's in a woodsy setting. River rocks and votive candles around twiggy pots of fall flowers.
its your wedding, BUT, mirrors make a great impact, they sparkle and they will double the light if you have candles on them or double the color if you have flowers on them.
and mirrors are back! take a look at any home decor magazine, they are coming back. all different shapes and sizes!
what you should do is look at what she wants to do, have her make up a couple of sample centerpieces for you to see and then make up your mind!
p.s. just saw your additional comments - river rocks/twigs on a mirror? perfect! it will give the impression of a small pond of water! very artistic idea and very feng shui!

I'm an event planner. I used to be a banquet manager. I've seen more wedding debaucery than you can imagine. 2 that come to mind:
1: A professional football player got married (you shoulda seen her ring…it was insane!) and there were guests doing lines of coke under the table off of the mirror centerpieces. The reception was on the 20th floor of the hotel and for some crazy reason the floor to ceiling windows opened. There were people hanging out the windows all night. I was sure something was going to fall that night.
2: A not so skinny bride with huge boobs dancing the night away. They popped out by the end of the night. It was not pretty. Then when it was all said and done the bride and the groom's mother got in an all out shouting match. They were all 3 cussing at each other, the bride was crying (and still spilling out from her dress) and I was trying to get them to their guest room so I could go home!
