Empathy, being able to walk in someone else's shoes, can be the deal breaker.

We cannot serve two masters. It is important to be knowledgable about our country's and other nation's governments and laws yet be careful not to make that OUR law. (followers of Christ)

We can compare God's law to a mirror, it is set in place to expose our sin. The governmental laws also expose our sins and our “humanitiy”. It is true, these errors do reveal our imperfection, even with all of our the education, power, and money. There is only one ideal government, and it is not an earthly one..

In order to prevent entropy (societal entropy that is), a government must be established. And it is funny how much we humans do not even trust ourselves. We must set forth a checks and balances system to avoid “Total Domination”. lol.

Back to empathy, yes it is horrifying to think of a mother and child starving without help, but it is also frustrating seeing your hard earned money decrease before your very eyes while someone else spends it on drugs and alcohol.

Or think about the immigrant who had to escape a society of dictatorship and neglect, where you have to pay in order for your kids to get an education, but you can barely make enough money for lunch. Yet YOUR child is sick and you must avoid going to the hospital due to expensive bills, while someone else can take their child to the hopital several times free of cost to them.

Whichever side you take, you are considered a “selfish villan”. Yet the fingers are being pointed at the opposite direction daily. We cannot “control” every individual, but we also cannot neglect others.
