   Love the spider little guy he is cute. Good tip: Its a cheap way to clean & keep your bathroom mirrors from fogging…clean the bath mirrors with men’s shaving cream…you’ll never have foggy mirrors for a while. When it starts fogging up again repeat the same procedure. Its cheap $1.00 dollar at any dollar store. Can’t get cheaper than that and you’ll also have a nice shaven hubby

   I saw the Fairfield house yesterday. Already three offers. Realtor bought it himself and acted as his own general contractor. He did a decent job. Good choice of colors and finishes, with minor problems such as really scratched fridge and bath mirror hung so high that you’d need to be six feet tall to use it.

   None of that stuff is creepy. I think it's just they way you draw attention to it that makes you sound creepy.

   I really like it. Nothing to really fix except, for the sentence – My mind was gone through, and so were my beautiful heels, — I would fix it to My mind was gone, and so were my beautiful heels. I took off running into the woods at full speed, not knowing when or where I would stop. Other then that great! Good luck!

   Not bad. I read through the whole thing.
   First, it's able to grab attention throughout the story (not the first line though).

   It's pretty personal, but here's where I get critical (sorry haha, I'm a creative prose writer myself, so I give more critique than a constructive critique): I'm not sure if this is about your life (hopefully it's not), but supposedly it's an account of an emo girl being picked on and she cannot endure all that criticism anymore and wants to give up. But I have to say this piece…is still a little superficial where anybody could write the same thing? You know what I mean? Apart from the mom being drunk and the dad wanting to do the little sister.

   To really hook the reader, you should make it more personal, like your thought process before you decided to cut yourself, what you're thinking while you cut it (like…am I going to regret this? etc…) But I guess you wanted to start the scene off in media res (in the middle of action), so that's another literary technique I liked.

   The writing itself is alright, but could be more artsy (Sorry, I am going too much into creative writing now, you don't have to read this part) but some sentences you can….spiff up more.

   Like…"I picked up the knife and I slowly cut across my wrist." Instead of that, you can either put your feelings into it. Maybe you're trembling and hesitant to do it. Maybe you are so eager and confident that you simply slash it through your wrist and watch blood spew out all over the bathroom mirror, with beads of blood sliding down into the sink. ahah just a little something.

   Sorry for all the criticism. It's a good piece overall, to write at leisure. But could add some creative touch to it (if you like creative writing).
   

   Edit: after reading others' responses, I guess I wasn't looking at the big picture. I normally dissect pieces too much I forget the reason why one would write something. Yes, it's a tragic story. Tragic, yet beautiful.
   heh I used to be kinda emo…so I understand these things.

   My husband and I stayed at the Sooke Harbourhouse in beautiful British Columbia. It truly is a “magical” place that sits right on the coast and out your window you can view the whales jumping about and hear the beautiful sounds of the ocean while cozied up to the fireplace. It was the one time that we could totally just “be” and have no worries, no kids, no drama…just us. I have pictures from that time all over the house. I have shells that we picked from that trip. I have little notes that were left on our pillows on our bath mirror too so that no matter where we step in our little home, we are reminded of that time. I also frame artwork that the kids have made, bowls and “pottery” they worked on for me and display them on bookshelves or even in the bathroom. I have books from all over – really old books – and they all remind me of another moment in time. I could go on and on on this comment because I love to surround my home with memories and love to make it feel more “real”. Melissa – I loved the blog post and the pics but then again – I always do!
