silver wall mirror can you re-silver a mirror without taking it off the wall?
I have an extra large bathroom mirror thats in bad shape....its mounted in a funny way and i'd prefer not to remove it, in fact i'll probably replace it, but out of curiosity i wondered if fixing it while still up was possible, from what i've read i don't think so.

mirror Faucet Is there a way to fix a cracked vanity mirror? Causes?
I have a very large mirror in the master suite that has recently shown a crack on the bottom left corner. The crack spread from the bottom to the side, approx 1ft. The only cause I can think of is the house settling more in one corner due to the outside water faucet which soaks the ground every time we sprinkler.
We have a new home (2 years old). If this cannot be repaired, and that it was caused by the foundation settling, can this be applied to the warranty? Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a very large mirror (at least 6ft long) and would be expensive to replace. Thanks!
Yeah It does sound like it was caused by the settling of the house.But good luck proving it or getting any remedy along these lines.But it cant hurt to try.I'm assuming this mirror is held to the wall with clips?Its my guess that the clips are very tight and did not allow for any wall movement.Which is really nobody's fault.This kind of thing happens fairly rarely It does not have anything to do with the sprinkler...lol Also i seriously doubt the crack can be repaired.

That's going to be cutting it close, especially with the wall and support beam addition... that wife of your's must be quite a gal! The only mitigating factors that might drive you over your $30K budget would be how elaborate you want the fixtures and cabinets to be. Good luck!
large round mirror Looking for modern full length mirror?

I am in the process of switching apartments with my parents and decided to update the bathrooms. I changed everything in the half bath to brushed nickel and I am having a hard time finding a brushed nickel framed full length mirror for the bathroom. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or do you think it will be fine if I just got a full length beveled mirror?
I will try to describe the bathroom the best I can. It is a large half bathroom with a vanity, toilet bowl and large cabinet with sink. The vanity and all cabinet space is black with a beige/grey wall, beige tiled floor, white bowl sink, white toilet, brushed nickel round mirror over vanity, square brushed nickel regular mirror over sink. I want the full length mirror for the wall opposite the sink.

You know what----mirrors are not expensive.
Call a glass shop and tell them what you want. They can usually cut the glass to order, deliver and install it cheaper than you can order one from a furniture store. I used to work as a designer for a high end furniture store and I was always appalled at how expensive good mirrors were. My husband is a general contractor and we do mirrors for very expensive residential bathrooms (framed and unframed) all the time and the cost is a fraction of what the furniture store charged. Plus, you can order exactly what you want--if you can describe it or draw it--they can make it for you.
I had custom mirrors installed in my modern kitchen as a backsplash and also had a custom corner mirrored unit with 1/2 inch glass display shelves above my corner sink---whole cost? About $400 including installation--and that's a whole lot more glass and complicated installation than one single glass mirror like you're talking about. I've seen framed mirrors in catalogs go for upwards of $1000.00.

Light chocolate brown walls ok with cherry wood floors? and should I go with distressed whitewash furniture?
One wall has a huge slidling glass door, one wall has a 72" mirrored closet door and the entry to bedroom are white french doors. So there are only 2 fully solid walls in the room, think it will still be too dark? HELP!!! Baseboards and trim will be pure white, enough contrast and break with the cherry wood floors? Blinds over window are also white.
It wouldn't be too dark. You did say light chocolate after all. I wouldn't go distressed white anything, but I really hate that look. Mixing woods is not a bad thing. What about oak or maple furniture? The shade of brown isn't very dark. You also might cover or replace those mirrired closet doors. They're very out of date. Don't forget to add at least one bright accent color...orange? It can be part of a pattern on your drapes or bedspread, something small if you're not too sure about it.
