wall mirrors decorative I'm renovating a half-bath that has areas of dog-chewed drywall...?
I'm thinking of a pedstal sink to make it more spacious, the toilet is fine, and we may move the over-the-mirror fixture to be two side-of-the-mirror fixtures. But my biggest concern right now is what to do with the walls; they've been through two-rounds of new puppies (it's been the overnight area for two of our dogs because it's safe and warm). I've considered trying to use some kind of patching substance, many sandings, and primer to obtain a nice smooth paint job... but is this even possible? I just finished scraping off the last layer of wallpaper and don't really want to put more on, but am not totally averse to the idea. I was also wondering if anyone has tried textured wall tiles. I've heard that they can be very eco-friendly, easy to paint and decorative as well. Has anyone used these? Or have any other suggestions? All are appreciated!!!
You can patch this to look good with paint on it. If you've got rough edges with the paper on the drywall peeling off, it would be best to take a sharp utility knife and cut the peeling paper off. Point the cutting end of the knife towards the hole, so you get a smooth beveled edge on the paper. Then you can fill the holes with a lightweight filler, perhaps doing several applications in the deep parts. The stuff dries really fast, so several light coats can be done in a day. You should only need to sand when you get to the last coat or two, and if you buy the kind of mesh sanding stuff used for drywall, and a holder for it, sanding should be a snap. The key is to apply the last coat a little high and then sand it level, gently so as not to sand the surrounding paper too much, and you might have to do that again, maybe not. Using a really wide putty knife makes it much easier to apply filler over wide areas, and easier to feather in edges if necessary.
But, if you think you might be using the bathroom again as a doggy nursery, have you considered using ceramic tile on the walls? It's about the only thing that would be dog-proof for sure. It doesn't need to cost a bundle, you don't need to do the whole wall, maybe just up to chair-rail height.

How to liven up my basement craft room?
I'm organized, that's not the problem. The room is, lets say, 10 by 10. I have one wall with shelves holding all my beads, neatly organized. (I run a beaded jewelry business). Another wall has my desk and a small TV on a bookcase. The third wall has a closet taking up the entire wall, and the fourth side of the room is where the stairs meet. The room is white (and I probably will not be allowed to paint as we're moving next year). I have a cute craft table from Ikea in the center, on an inexpensive brown indoor/outdoor area rug. The room is pretty chilly - I use a spaceheater but I still dread working in that room. I end up taking stuff upstairs and do it in bed or in the livingroom. What can I do to the room to make it more enjoyable to be in? I do have a small decorative mirror on one wall, and a colorful paint chip artwork I did on another. What else can I do to make the room more inviting/warm/enjoyable?
Since you can't paint why not buy of make a folding screen, or get a bamboo screen. they are cheek and you can paint them or hang things on them. You might all so try hanging a tapestry on it. They come in al sizes, and you can get what looks like tapestry but isn't pretty cheap.

Faucet mirror I've been playing a joke at work involving a hole in the womens bathroom mirror that shoots pepperspray.?
It comes on when they turn on the faucet. My boss still hasn't figured out who rigged it up. I am getting ready for april fools. Is this joke over the line? Its in an office environment. It happened a few times before anyone realized what was going on. Women would scream and run out of the bathroom holding their hands to their face very frantically. I don't think I am breaking a law since there is no camera and the spray works as the person turns on the faucet and its nothing I do from remotely from another room.
First off, assault is assault even if done by remote or trigger. What you have set up, while similar to an automated security system by nature, it has been set up with malicious intent hich is what classifies it as assault. Second, you're lucky with only assault at the moment. There are people who are deadly allergic to the chemicals used in those sprays and can go into anaphylactic shock. Should that happen and the victim of your "prank" die, you'll be looking at homicide charges.
In any case, yes, it's over the line and I would urge you to take it down. As a rule of thumb for the future, if anyone cries, it's over the line.

mirror Port Why sniffers catch traffic on a switched network (with switches, not hubs) in promiscous mode?
When searching the difference between hubs and switches, the main one is that in switched networks, packets sent from host "A" to host "B" are sent by the switch exclusively to host B, whereas in networks using hubs the packet is sent to every port.
Today I tried sniffing a layer 2 switched network (3com superstack 3 switches) with WireShark, setting my card on promiscous mode, and I actually catched a lot of traffic from and to other computers of the network... Why am I receiving this traffic? isn´t it supposed to be sent only to the port of the destinated computer? I had understood from school that to do this I required to set a mirroring port on my switch and to sniff this port.

Whether hubs or switches, have to use promiscuous mode,In addition there is no mirroring port is impossible to realize your request.
