Rectangular mirror How do you remove a bathroom mirror?
I'm going to replace the wallpaper in my bathroom, and would like to remove the large, rectangular mirror above the vanity. These are the mirrors that take up the entire wall!
The mirror has two clips at the top and bottom holding it in place. How to you remove these clips so you can get the mirror out?
I'm redoing our bathroom and just removed our mirror a few weeks ago.
Ours was glued to the wall and had plastic clips above the top edge and along one side. I think my clips were different from what you have. If yours are what I think they are, remove the top ones first, then lift out of the bottom ones. I don't know if glue is standard or not, but put yourself in a homebuilder's shoes- think liability and lawsuits from customers. Would you trust a few clips to hold a big piece of glass in a room that people are often barefoot in?
Before I did anything, I covered the entire mirror with clear contact paper (don't have to use clear if it's not readily available). The purpose of the contact paper is to contain the pieces of glass if the mirror should crack and break while removing it.
I then removed the clips from the top and side edge.
After that, I started working wood shims along the accessible edges and tapped them in with a rubber mallet. Rotate from shim to shim, just tapping each a little bit to evenly move the mirror away from the wall as much as possible to avoid cracking the glass.
Our bathroom mirror was 4' x 4'. I freed it from the wall by myself, but my wife helped carry it outside.

Bathroom mirror Where can I find a custom bathroom mirror?
I broke my bathroom mirror. It's a shelf mirror: A cabinet with sliding mirror doors, (small mirror doors), with 1 knob for each mirror. I still have the knob but the mirror is broken. I need the correct size mirror (I don't need it glued or installed, it just needs to be placed in if it's the right size) and a hole for the knob.

Many will cut ya the proper sized mirror and drill the hole.

How does my bathroom mirror fog over/steam up if I've barely been in there for the last 16 hrs?
I live in Lincoln, NE in a basement apt, it was very hot & humid in my bathroom, but every other room wasn't too hot or humid. No one has taken a shower for now almost 24hrs. Also there has been an open window & the door to the bathroom has stayed wide open. Right outside the bathroom window is a commercial a/c. I'm thinking that must be where the steam/humidity is coming from.

I see kids in my neighborhood dressed up like they are going to a punk rock funeral, sometimes I can't tell the guys from the girls anymore, tight pants - that they are sagging? Dressing mirror Can a wall mirror be converted to a floor mirror?
I am in need of a large floor mirror for the dressing area of my bedroom. I found a mirror I love but it is a wall mirror for hanging. I am wondering if you can buy a easel attachment to either screw into the back or place the mirror on the floor? I don't want to just lean the mirror agains the wall. (safety issue)
I think what you want to know is how to place the mirror base on the floor without the hazard that it can slip. Suggest you buy L-brackets at the hardware store that you can hammer to the angle you want the mirror to be. Screw the brackets to the sides of the base of the mirror then screw to the floor. The mirror will keep that angle without moving.
If you want an easel effect so you can change the angle, then you have several obstacles. You could put poles up on each side of the mirror floor to ceiling, then put a rod across the center of the mirror that goes through holes in each pole. The rod would be held in place with a half-round clamp that screws into the mirror frame. Then you need a way to tighten the rod to the poles with a knob that screws on to the ends of the knob. Not impossible but you will need to get advice at the hardware store on clamps, screws, etc. Good luck.
There are not that many good easel mirrors, but if you go to a fine furniture store and ask, the accessories catalogs that should be there will have better easel mirrrors than you will find accidentally in stores. Mirror catalogs often have them in a special section.
Some bedroom suites have them as an optional purchase but they are seldom stocked because they are a hard-to-sell item. Pennsylvania House, now out of business, had several good ones that you might find second-hand or at a furniture outlet. .
